Nano-blogging: What's up

  • Here is an updated snippet what I do in more real-time (and for real, as compared to the 30 boxes "plan"). View it like an occasional SMS going public instead of private. Or yes, nanoblogging.
  • Here you can see what I plan to do, but you know how it is with plans in a chaordic world. Updated through computer and mobile screen. Mostly transparent, some undisclosed.

Micro-blogging: Raw bookmark sharing

  • A micro blog in the steady stream besides the main blogs mainstream. Content here eventually emerge into something worth to digest in the main blog.
This is my everyday social bookmarking - all things related to all my streams of sustainopreneurship, music production - distribution - consumption, t-shirt trading, tools - enablers - approaches to fast-track to a sustainable world, and of course alot of fun, fun and fun! Eclectic, esoteric, exoteric. Messy? Well. Chaordic, I prefer to say - in between chaos and order, like nature itself.
The content is visualized by the tag cloud and the core is defined by my profile statement and quote: RE:LOVE THE WORLD | Anders Abrahamsson dot info. See my About Page here.
And of course, if you appreciate my blog or a specific blog post, bookmark it with your service (through AddThis above - all the established bigger ones in one go), I would really love to recommend you BlinkList (it's included)!

This blog from one of "2000 bloggers"

Some two weeks ago, Jack Yan was pointing me to an initiative named 2000 bloggers. It was starting out as an initative by a guy called Tino Buntic.  You can read background and why he did it in an interview here.

I thought about it as a way to increase the recognition of the first part of the Long Tail of bloggers and to put more diversity in the blog-o-sphere recognition scheme first and foremost nowadays governed by Technorati, much echoing the voice from Jack Yan about diversity. We cannot know what happens when people try to break into the scheme of the global, nah mostly American, A-list cross-linking top 100 bloggers by having an extension of 2000 linking to a collage of 2000 faces, even if it's on a random basis through a memetic viral spread. For me the pros of increasing diversity and the arena for serendipities is over-weighing the cons of randomness and potential link2me-greediness.

I made an intuitive decision in the first place, and decided that the ideas in my main blog here would be worth a try to be a part of that face-poster. So, the day before yesterday, I got featured.

2kb

Not with my name, but with my face, adding to the diversified collage, and the question I got from Ron the other day - "What should you do with 3.5 million dollars?" (as I blogged the other week). And that's great, it got me as issue-oriented (not person-). And just like that - blogging is about Big Questions with many trying to answer them, it is about conversation, it is about expressing views, it is about dialogue. From anyone, not just a number of top-bloggers called the "A-list" or "top 100 bloggers", as for now all too amero-centric.

Who governs who should be an authority on something? Technorati?

No, you.

I think the 2000 bloggers initative is a claim to be a bit subversive to increase the polyvocal and democratic-intended-to-be World-Wide Web, as originally claimed by the innovator TBL, Tim Berners Lee.

"/.../the vision I have for the Web is about anything being potentially connected with anything. It is a vision that provides us with new freedom, and allows us to grow faster than we ever could when we were fettered by the hierarchical classification systems into which we bound our-selves. It leaves the entirety of our previous ways of working as just one tool among many. It leaves our previous fears for the future as one set among many. And it brings the workings of society closer to the workings of our minds.”

The semantic, programmable web is maybe the strongest decentralization and distribution-of-power, democratic engine we've seen to date. And thus a tool that opens up the spaces for sustainopreneurship in action.

Keep it rollin! And thanks, Tino and the 2kbloggers team for getting me among the other 1 999 voices!

Finally: Good thing we have blogs and webs. Otherwise these expressions never came out to our shared space. Right?

Sustainopreneurship Defined

  • Quick Guide - Fixed Page @ www.sustainopreneurship.info
This blog presents ideas, applied action and tangible results that has now reached the critical mass enough to write a book. The most important element of such a book is the condensation of the phenomenon I study - Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Sustainability, or Sustainopreneurship. The concept has been anchored in a research article in the 1st publication from a Swedish Research Association on Sustainable Development. The definition is published here, at http://www.sustainopreneurship.info, and also links to another page with featured case studies.

  • Albert-Laszlo Barabasi, Mark Newman, Duncan Watts: The Structure and Dynamics of Networks (Princeton Studies in Complexity)

Albert-Laszlo Barabasi, Mark Newman, Duncan Watts: The Structure and Dynamics of Networks (Princeton Studies in Complexity)
If "Linked" above presented an easily accessed introduction, still with quite intricate underlying mathematics making it easy to grasp, this volume seems to take it quite a bit further, to say the least! Still, given the reading experience from last summer, I expect nothing less than astounding when this lies in my lap, replacing the laptop :). -- Synopsis Quote; "From the Internet to networks of friendship, disease transmission, and even terrorism, the concept--and the reality--of networks has come to pervade modern society. But what exactly is a network? What different types of networks are there? Why are they interesting, and what can they tell us? In recent years, scientists from a range of fields--including mathematics, physics, computer science, sociology, and biology--have been pursuing these questions and building a new "science of networks." This book brings together for the first time a set of seminal articles representing research from across these disciplines."

  • Chris Anderson: The Long Tail

    Chris Anderson: The Long Tail
If Barabasi et al takes the concept of networks to its "abstractions" and the most far-spread cross/multi/many-disciplinary applications, Chris Anderson delivers a truly groundbreaking approach to its application in two dimensions: How to make use of the "small worlds" to generate "new business opportunities and to tap into formerly 'impossible' markets" of the niches of the millions of dozens. Read it in the crude states as a "on its way to a book-diary" at http://www.thelongtail.com and check the Long Tail basics at the "Lens" http://www.squidoo.com/longtail!

  • Kai Hockerts et al: Social Entrepreneurship

Kai Hockerts et al: Social Entrepreneurship
Pending is the book coming from Kai Hockerts et al. (ed.), one of my greatest "linkedin's", former head of CMER of Insead and now associated to "Center for Corporate Values and Responsibilities", is here on his way with a volume bringing the field forward. He was the first to have a PhD connecting the concepts "sustainable development" with "entrepreneurship", see my "theory/references" first blogpost.

  • C. Macrae, Alan Mitchell et al: The Map That Changed the World
I heard that this volume is currently in print, on its way out. From synopsis; "To survive and flourish, organizations must create win-win relationships with the people they deal with. This, in fact, is every businesses underlying purpose: to organize and connect different groups of people (customers, employees, investors, distributors, partners etc.) in a collaborative quest for a particular form of mutual value creation. Most thoughtful business leaders are well aware of this, yet rarely make profitable use of their knowledge for one simple reason: no one has yet managed to translate this rather abstract and generalistic insight into concerted, practical action. Until now." / Or - shall we say - soon ;) ?
