Anders Abrahamsson - Sustainopreneurship – Business with a Cause. Getting leverage for Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Sustainability.
Anders Abrahamsson (MSc BA, Sustainability Entrepreneurship; founder of SLICE Services and Publishing), born 1966, loves building communities for a better world. Calling himself a “sustainopreneurial facilitator, global knowledge nomad and qualitative intentional networker”, his deeds focuses on developing entrepreneurship and innovation for sustainability in idea and practice, without boundaries – one dialogue, relation and action at a time. All shares the sentiment of his vision “RE:LOVE THE WORLD” – envisioning a world where you meet your fellow human being with Love and Respect, and can expect to be met with the same. To get there is a thousand mile journey, but as Lao Tse said – every such journey begins with one step. And sustainopreneurship is a giant leap.
After a journey of pioneering discovery and exploration, including a Field Study in Uganda 2001/02, winning SIFE Sweden (Students In Free Enterprise) 2004, and starting several sustainability companies and brands through the last decade, time was mature for some authorship beginning 2006 and onwards. A Master Thesis using his own experiences as empirical material (”Enactive Research”), took the proposed definition of the concept to a test in 2007, and it passed. After adding some post-Thesis suggestions for further research in a book chapter published in 2008, enough was there to publish a Wikipedia article on Sustainopreneurship in October 2008.
Right now Anders is authoring a book, “Sustainopreneurship – Business with a Cause. Sharing Stories on Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Sustainability”. In his speech, he will introduce the concept, together with some key factors on how to get leverage for “the Sustainopreneurial Movement” at large – making the biggest problems in the world even greater business opportunities.
